He'd never even seen her act so exposed. There was something about her lying there that seemed so different, seemed so new to him.

It had been so long, he knew that there was going to be something about her that he didn't know. Everyone who even listened to a radio knew so much about him. His political leanings, his personal life, everything. Even his wedding anniversary was known by everyone. There was nothing sacred to him. Whereas Rachel, she had everything private. Nobody knew when she was born, where she had grown up. Nobody had any idea of who she was. That anonymity, the fact that she could be herself and have nobody care, was difficult to imagine. Since he was twenty, he'd been a megastar. But Gary would admit that he'd give up everything he had if it meant that he could live a life of anonymity.
